Human Papillomavirus (HPV) Vaccination

Finally got my first dose of HPV vaccination
and after running around so many clinics...I got it from my family doctor, with among the best price and advice
(forgotten about him totally, so sorry our dearest doc)
for those interested...I read from TheStar (and of coz verified by doc) that there are currently two kinds of vaccine here...one against two weak strains, and one against two weak and two strong (more virulent) strains...and needless to say, the latter is better as its efficiency could reach as high as 90% as I read from the newspaper...and according to doc (who reads research journals)...the current vaccine we have is most effective for the age range 9 - 26 (I read this from the newspaper too and this is why I was almost rushing to get my jabs)..however my third dose will come after me turning 26, but doc says its small matter...
...and good news is that a second batch of vaccine is on the way (this one targets at another age range in terms of efficiency)...

but having mentioned on the vaccine and it's efficiency, although it offers a protection, it does not replace pap smears and other means of checking such as ultra sound etc...but well, unless you have previous activity/experience in ...you know what I mean, then pap smear is not feasible for you...and this has always slipped off the mind of stupid fella here until another doctor asked sometime ago...how stupid of me (more embarassing for not thinking of that);PPPP

so yeah, get your jab today dear girls and ladies...

just for information, doc gave me the info sheet of the vaccine...the vaccine I took was GARDASIL [Quadrivalent Human Papillomavirus (Types 6, 11, 16, 18) Recombinant Vaccine]....hmm, Recombinant? remember those days when we were so against Gene-manipulation and GMO etc...now we have this vaccine thanks to recombinant DNA technology...science is just great;-)
and cost for one dose = RM380; will speak about the enquiry i made in Ipoh Specialist Centre (Indian doc, my gosh what 'luck' I have with Indians man?!) and she's obviously trying to nab a sum of money with her 'scheme'...and then my bad luck continued...sourcing for 'quotation' for braces treatment...and then 'bumped' into an Indian Orthodontist who again displayed no interest for anything but money and business!! Speak more on these two issues...
